All of Us, Together; Protecting Each Other [for poweroflightning]
Experimentation on mutants. It was the single worst piece of intelligence that Magneto's network of informants could return to him. A secret laboratory in the Australian Outback. Probably underground to avoid detection from the air. Remote enough that it wouldn't be stumbled on by accident.
Magneto would go himself to investigate the facility. If it was what he'd been told, he would rescue any mutants being held inside and raze the place himself, as well.
He didn't count on Charles' people also getting wind of the facility and sending their own agent to investigate, but the graceful profile and shock of white hair he saw watching what he believed to be the entrance to the facility could only belong to Ororo Munroe. She was Charles' right hand these days. He crept up behind her and cleared his throat.

Finding out that the facility was underground hadn't been a pleasant discovery. The security here was heavy, with armed guards consistently patrolling around the entrance and other protection methods undoubtedly placed around to prevent any unexpected visitors.
She knew getting inside wouldn't be terribly difficult with the help of her powers. However, she also knew that, as flashy as a sudden storm in this environment would be, everyone inside would likely be alerted at once to a mutant's presence. That made her worry for anyone who might be currently held captive.
Busy planning her next move, Ororo hadn't heard someone approaching from behind. Foolish not to keep checking, but (somewhat) a relief when she saw who it was. Well, a relief until it fully registered exactly which fellow mutant she was facing.
"What are you doing here?" He would ruin everything. This wasn't supposed to end in violence if it could be helped.

And a cape.
He responded with a wry smile.
"If you have any idea what's going on in there, then you know why I'm here."

Well, regardless. She had more pressing matters to worry about, like the man standing in front of her.
"This isn't supposed to be a loud operation." She gave him a hard, pointed look. If they left all the humans dead, whoever was running the facility would find a way to spin this for the public to make them into monsters without revealing what they'd been doing. And there was the simple fact that killing people wasn't her intention here.

But there went the assumption that he enjoyed killing people again. He didn't. But he wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done. Even if it was killing people.
"I'm camped a couple of miles into the brush. I have a schematic of the facility." Of course he did. Mystique. He crossed his arms. "Want to see it?"

Whether he enjoyed it or not, Ororo found it difficult not to think of Magneto as a dangerous, loose cannon. Having him turn up without warning on a mission wasn't a pleasant surprise.
Finding out he had schematics, however, was a good thing. Maybe the only good thing to come of this. Looked like she'd have to swallow her pride here and do what was best for the people possibly trapped inside.
"...Yes. I'll take a look."

He smirked at a little. He had the info. That was what made him think he was in charge.
"Let's go, then," he told her, moving down among the rocks until his feet hit the ground and the leading her through the underbrush until they reached his encampment, camoflaged by brush he dragged over top of it. It was only obviously occupied if you were looking for it. He pushed branches out of the way and dug a satchel out of a bigger bag, sitting down on a rock to glance through it for the document he wanted.
"Did you come alone?" he asked casually as he leafed through the bag's contents.
